Dr. Ashish Sharma
Dr Ashish Sharma who is a world renowned retina specialist. He was trained at US topmost ophthalmology institute Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami. He served as faculty at University of California, Irvine, USA. After returning from US he developed a retina imaging device “MII Ret Cam” which has made the diabetic retinopathy screening cost effective in 40 countries till date. He has been awarded by All India Ophthalmic Society and American Academy of Ophthalmology. He has been invited by Honorable Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi regarding his innovation. Recently, he developed a treatment to reduce the cost of treatment for patients who suffer from vision difficulty due to diabetes. His work is published by leading scientific journal such as American Academy of Ophthalmology, British Journal of Ophthalmology, European Journal of Ophthalmology etc.

DBFI is his vision to prevent millions of diabetics in India who get blind just because they do not get care at right time.
Dr. Rohini Sharma
Dr Rohini Sharma is a mentor for healthcare entrepreneur students at TIPS Global Institute, Coimbatore, TN, India. After completing her masters in dentistry as gold medalist, she has started working to solve the local healthcare issues on the community such as menstrual hygiene, geriatric
health, and pediatric dental health. She has been closely associated in the field study design of MII Ret Cam based patients screening for diabetic blindness and blindness in premature babies.

During her journey as mentor for healthcare entrepreneur, she has identified that many diabetic patients get blind just
because of the ignorance in India. DBFI is another healthcare project which she wishes to
implement across India to prevent diabetic blindness.
